A CCWA Halloween
A revolutionary, a dinosaur, and Alex Trebek walk into a club… CCWA, to be exact.
Last night, CCWA celebrated the spookiest time of the year with a meeting like no other. CCWA held its annual Halloween meeting, complete with a donation drive-costume contest and our scariest Jeopardy categories of the year.
In typical CCWA fashion, club alumnus Drew Niccum kicked off the night (get it? ‘cuz he was a soccer player??) with a recap on the recent Canadian elections. Nothing scarier than the first-past-the-post system results to get into the Halloween spirit!
Jeopardy also had a special, spooky twist with categories like “Nicole’s CasserGHOUL” and a trick(or treat)y Final Jeopardy clue. Not to mention, it was hosted by, not one, but two Alex Trebeks (Jeopardy coordinators Liz Webb and Nicole Hoyer)!
Of course, you can’t have a real CCWA meeting without some Jam Sessions! The main topic of the evening (“Do we live in a simulation?”) was debated by MUN members Yazan Anani (but tonight, a revolutionary) and Maddie Sisk (a frat guy).
But the real kicker of the night came afterwards with our club-wide costume contest. This year, we partnered with US Together to host a Hygiene Drive in preparation for the upcoming holiday season. We asked our members to bring at least one hygiene item in order to participate in the costume contest. Needless to say, we had quite the turnout. Check out the winners of the evening:
Third place: An “oil boomer” (Maxwell Vore)
Second place: E-boys (Annie Ha and Ava Barnes)
First place: Carmen notification (Enan Srivastava)
Have a happy Halloween/“werewolf bar mitzvah (spooky, scary!)” from all of us here in CCWA!
